Just wanted to share a photo from my most difficult photo shoot of the year. Yep, those are my children and boy did they make me work for that shot. :)

Downtown {Clarksville, TN Family Photographer}

I was excited that this family wanted to take photos downtown where there are so many interesting buildings and nooks and crannies all within a few blocks. I love this cute and cooperative bunch. And it's always a joy when a photographer comes across a photo that almost takes her breath away...see last photo of dainty princess.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

For some time now, I have been familiar with and have greatly admired the work of this incredible charity, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. I share the following information in hopes that someone will learn about this service and be able to use it or share it with someone who can. I am also happy to announce that I am now an affiliated photographer for NILMDTS.

The following is taken from the website and explains the mission of NILMDTS:

Pregnancy and birth are miraculous journeys. This amazing time of life is full of mystery, anticipation, joy, hope, and wonder. Feeling the powerful energy of birth and new life, watching as a new family is born unto each other. These things humble and amaze. These are the things that we celebrate when a baby is born.

But there is another aspect of pregnancy and birth. There is an unexpected place in this journey where some families may find themselves. When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down. There is confusion, sadness, fear, and uncertainty that cannot be explained. There is sorrow where there should have been joy. During this time, it might be impossible for families to know what they might need in order to heal in the future.

This is the place where the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network of almost 7,000 volunteer photographers in the United States and twenty-five countries. At a family's request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.

Our entire network of affiliated photographers graciously donate their time and talents to our families and we are proud to be able to offer our services at no cost. Your Donations are greatly needed and greatly appreciated.

Sweet! {Fort Campbell, KY Family Photographer}

The pleasant dispositions of these five children made my job as photographer a breeze. And as if they weren't already as sweet as they could be, we ended the session with lollipops. I love the romantic shot of Mom and Dad-- the capture of a brief moment when it was just them and the wind. It is one of my very favorite couple pictures! And the children's faces! Sigh... I love families.

A Walk in the Park

There's nothing like watching a brand new walker toddle through the park on a summer evening. (Okay, it was really, really hot, but it was fun.) I was happy to be able to photograph this growing family. Kenny, whom I think of as "my web guy," is the computer talent behind my website. He was so pleasant to work with and it was so exciting to watch my vision of the website become a reality at an affordable price. I highly recommend Kenny to anyone who needs a website designer. He lives nearby, but we did most of our correspondence online throughout the building process, so he could help you near or far.

Irresistable

The little guy in this family won me over instantly with his happy smile and that adorable blonde curl on top of his head. Every time I looked at him, I couldn't resist clicking the shutter. He was constantly smiling sweetly or doing something cute. The first picture is now one of my all-time favorite photos.
PS- Mom and Dad were a delight too!

Brown Eyed Girl {Clarksville, TN Senior Photographer}

This pretty senior girl was fun to photograph and I appreciate that she and her mom humored me by pulling over here and there whenever a spot caught my eye. Speaking of eyes, don't you think brown eyes are terribly underrated?
